Privacy Policy

FacStat LLC ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us: Your name, email, current school, years in education, role, subject expertise, grade levels, coaching interests, geographic preferences, salary expectations, and other information you enter into the Teacher Match Quiz or signup forms. If you upload a resume, we receive the resume file and its contents.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps. We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible or similar) that do not use cookies or fingerprinting for tracking.

Information from schools: Publicly available information about independent schools — names, addresses, enrollment, published mission copy — from the National Association of Independent Schools directory, IRS Form 990 filings, and individual school websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Match you with schools whose characteristics align with your preferences
  • Deliver your Teacher Profile Card and save your quiz results
  • Send you email digests of new matching job openings (weekly, or as configured)
  • Respond to inquiries you send us
  • Improve the Service (e.g., refining the matching algorithm based on aggregate behavior)
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

We do NOT sell your personal information. We do not share your resume or quiz responses with schools without your explicit permission.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share limited information with:

  • Service providers we use to run the Service (hosting, email delivery, analytics). These providers are bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Schools, only when you explicitly opt in — for example, by clicking "Share my profile with this school."
  • Authorities, if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the safety of a person.
  • Acquirers, if FacStat is sold, merged, or acquired, in which case your information may transfer to the new owner under the terms of this policy (or a subsequent policy you'll be notified of).

4. Your Choices

  • Access and correction: Email hello@facstat.com to see what we have on file or correct it.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data at any time. We'll complete deletion within 30 days.
  • Email preferences: Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Do Not Track: We honor Do Not Track signals. Our analytics tools do not set cross-site identifiers.

5. California and EU Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of sale (we do not sell), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Exercise these rights by emailing hello@facstat.com.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing. The legal basis for our processing is your consent (you chose to submit information) and our legitimate interest in operating a career-matching service.

6. Data Retention

We retain quiz responses and profile data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the Service. If you haven't interacted with the Service in 24 months, we may deactivate your data. Resume files are deleted within 12 months of upload unless you actively use them for matching.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and limited personnel access. No system is perfectly secure; we recommend using unique passwords and keeping them private.

8. Children's Privacy

FacStat is intended for educators over 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here and we'll update the "Last updated" date. If changes affect how we use information you've already shared, we'll notify you by email where we have one.
